One of my holiday let interior projects was Seascape, a stunning beach house on Hayling Island. From the start, the vision was really clear - a clean, modern space that guests could relax completely, with all the comforts of home (and a few lovely extras).
The house itself has so much going for it. It’s right on the seafront, with a private garden that leads straight out to the beach, and an upside-down layout that makes the most of the sea views from the first floor. The living space is open plan and flooded with light, so we had a beautiful base to build on.
I kept the design simple, soft and coastal without going overboard on a ‘beachy’ theme. The colour palette was all about calm neutrals, relaxed textures, and natural materials and just a few well-chosen pieces to bring personality without clutter. The idea was to create something stylish, but not staged. A place that looks great in photos but feels even better when you walk through the door.
As with any holiday let, practical details really mattered too. Everything had to be durable and easy to maintain between bookings, so I chose finishes that would stand up to sandy feet and busy family holidays - wipeable surfaces, robust fabrics, plenty of hidden storage. The layout was already ideal for groups or families, with four bedrooms (including a fun bunk room for the kids), two bathrooms, and loads of shared space upstairs for cooking, dining, or just sinking into the sofa with a view of the sea.
One of my favourite spots is the roof terrace - it’s such a peaceful place to sit in the morning with a coffee or wind down after a long beach day. It’s those little lifestyle moments I always try to think about when I’m designing a space. Not just how it looks, but how it feels to be there.
Seeing the finished house now full of happy guests is so rewarding. If you’re thinking of launching or upgrading your own holiday let and want it to feel effortless, welcoming and beautifully put together, I’d love to help bring it to life.
